Lockheed Martin Morocco Defense Partnership and Industrial Ties

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) is expanding its presence in Morocco, collaborating with the Kingdom to strengthen defense capabilities and grow local industrial partnerships. Guided by Law No. 10-20, which aims to develop a robust national defense industrial base, the company is advancing the Kingdom’s vision to drive local innovation, foster self-reliance and field top-tier defense capabilities.

During a recent visit facilitated by the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), a senior Lockheed Martin delegation led by Joseph Rank, chief executive for Lockheed Martin in Africa and Saudi Arabia, met to review supply chain partnerships and visited key industrial companies in Casablanca, including TDM Maroc, SABCA Maroc, Collins Aerospace RFM, and Exellia Maroc. The visit aligns with Lockheed Martin’s broader strategy to further integrate Moroccan suppliers into its global supply chain, increase local content in its platforms and enhance local manufacturing capabilities.

The delegation also held discussions with senior government and military officials in Rabat, reaffirming Lockheed Martin’s dedication to supporting Morocco’s defense priorities. Topics included exploring new opportunities for capability building, promoting workforce development, and further aligning with Morocco’s goals for a more self-sustaining defense industry.

“Our enduring relationship with Morocco reflects a shared commitment to innovation, security, and economic progress,” Rank said. “As we continue to deepen our collaboration, we aim to advance Morocco’s defense capabilities, expand local expertise, and also contribute to long-term industrial and economic growth.”

Lockheed Martin’s 50-year partnership with Morocco began in 1974 with the delivery of the first C-130H Hercules tactical airlifter to the Royal Moroccan Air Force. Today, the company’s contributions include advanced defense platforms such as the F-16 Fighting Falcon, Sikorsky helicopters, radars, and integrated air and missile defense technologies. This growing partnership, supported by ongoing knowledge-sharing efforts, highlights Lockheed Martin’s commitment to advancing Morocco’s industrial and defense objectives while building a foundation for future collaboration.
